Marder Dermatology offers the following State of the Art Procedures:

BOTOX® Cosmetic

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a simple, nonsurgical treatment that can temporarily smooth moderate to severe frown lines between the brows in people from 18 to 65 years of age. It is a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium, which reduces the activity of the muscles that cause facial lines to form over time.

In a simple, 10-minute treatment—a few tiny injections—and within days there's a noticeable improvement in moderate to severe frown lines between the brows, which can last up to 6 months.

Dr. Marder will determine where to administer the injections by examining your ability to move certain muscles in your brow area. The location, size, and use of the muscles that create a furrowed brow vary markedly among individuals.

No anesthesia is required, although your doctor may choose to numb the area with a cold pack or anesthetic cream prior to injecting. Discomfort is usually minimal and brief.

Microdermabrasion

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical way to repair and restore your skin to its youthful appearance. It is an FDA approved progressive method of treatment that refines the texture of your skin while tightening the layers below the surface. Blood flow is stimulated through a hand piece to the surface of the skin for collagen and elastin reformation.

Benefits:

  • Maintaining Healthy Skin
  • Age Spots
  • Acne Scarring
  • Sun Damage
  • Uneven Skin Tones
  • Hyper-pigmentation
  • Improving texture
  • Large Pores
  • Fine Lines and Wrinkles
  • Scar Resurfacing

Microdermabrasion reverses the signs of aging by bombarding the skin with a steam of multi-faceted crystals used to exfoliate and polish the outer keratin layer of the dermis. The skin perceives the crystal bombardment as an injury to the stratum corneum and begins to reproduce fresh cells, rejuvenating your skin and restoring its youthful appearance. This treatment can be performed on all areas of the body and can be used on all skin types.

IPL Technology

IPL is the first and only technology that simultaneously harnesses the power of bi-polar radio frequency (RF) and optical energy (either laser or light). Developed by IPL inventor/patent holder, Dr. Shimon Eckhouse and master physicist, Dr. Michael Kreindel. This revolutionary technology platform effectively overcomes the safety and procedural limitations of intense pulse light (IPL) and conventional lasers.

Acne Treatment

Acne occurs when a sebaceous oil gland surrounding a hair follicle becomes clogged with oil and dead skin cells. Bacteria growth in this clogged environment causes infection and acne blemishes.

The combined bi-polar radio frequency and blue light energies of IPL technology penetrate the skin to precisely target and destroy active acne-causing bacteria, while also slowing excessive sebaceous oil production. Treatment helps in reducing active acne and speeds up healing time of existing acne.

Hair Removal

Permanent hair reduction is successful for both men and women, and almost all body areas can be treated. Hair growth is reduced after each treatment depending on your hair color, and type, body area, and skin tone. Every treatment is individualized to your particular needs.

Skin Rejuvenation

The combined radio and light energies of IPL technology precisely and safely targets pigmented lesions such as freckles, sun spots, and age spots. Vascular lesions such as spider vessels and redness and veins from rosacea are also lightened and gradually fade. Gradual and cumulative improvements of skin tone are typically achieved between 5-6 treatment sessions.

IPL Wrinkle Treatment

IPL technology offers a non-invasive solution that delivers safe, effective wrinkle treatment without surgery. Ideal for patients who want to resolve mild to moderate wrinkles. Contact cooling protects the epidermis and directs RF energy precisely at the treatment zone, the area thought to promote collagen production.

Eyelifts (Blepharoplasty)

Blepharoplasty can rejuvenate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision. The procedure is usually performed in an office with local anesthesia in as little as 45 minutes. Blepharoplasty can be combined with a facelift or BOTOX® treatments to raise the eyebrows or reduce the appearance of wrinkles, crow's feet or dark circles under the eyes.

Mini Face Lifts (Rhydidectomy)

In time, gravity, sun exposure, and the stresses of daily life take their toll on our faces: deep creases appear beside the mouth, the jaw line slackens, and folds and fat deposits appear on the neck. Facelifts counteract these problems by removing fat and tightening skin and muscles, giving your face a fresher, youthful look. Incisions are made in inconspicuous places such as behind the hairline and in natural folds of the face and ears, and scars fade to near invisibility in time. After surgery, some patients appear 10-15 years younger.

Sculptra™

Sculptra™ counteracts the loss of fat beneath the skin (a condition called lipoatrophy). Sculptra™ is injected into the deep dermis layer of the skin to improve the appearance of sunken cheeks, hollow eyes, indentations and wrinkles. Its main component is an alpha hydroxy acid that has been used for 20 years in surgical products such as dissolvable sutures. Results can be permanent.

Radiesse®

Radiesse™ is a synthetic injectable filler that reduces wrinkles, creases and scars by augmenting the body’s natural collagen supply. It can be used on many areas of the body, including the lips, nasolabial folds, peri-oral lines, depressed scars and oral commissures. Treatments typically take 15 minutes and require only local anesthetic. Results are visible immediately after the injection and can last for months or years.
